Travel through historic Elizabethton, to the top of Roan Mountain to experience panoramic views extending from Tennessee to North Carolina. Roan Mountain is home to the world’s largest natural stand of Catawba Rhododendron, which set the gardens ablaze in crimson hues during peak blooming season. This “Cloudland” is the perfect place to feel a cleansing, cool breeze, smell fragrant wildflowers, and let your mind wander back to a simpler time. After taking in this scenic, mountain landscape, turn things up a notch and get your heart racing as you head back to Johnson City on tight, winding roads.
