Twist the throttle and travel back in time! Explore scenic roads and be led to the historical Rocky Mount and Tipton-Haynes sites, and the Sycamore Shoals Fort—where you may even be able to catch a historical reenactment, workshop, or other event steeped in regional history. Next to see is the Carter Mansion—the oldest mansion in East Tennessee, dating back to 1775. When you arrive at the Doe River, you’ll see one of the country’s last remaining covered bridges, which dates back to the early 1880s. Relax and listen to the river flow as you bask in the region’s rich history.
